Route description: If you do the return journey from the Schwarzsee to the Hintere Gsies Lenke: take a right turn. Follow the marking in a northerly direction to the Hellböden (2,710 metres), at the N/W ridge, walk down to the Pfoischarte (2,608 metres) and from there follow the marking towards N/W up to the Hochkreuzspitze (2,739 metres); difference in altitude from Schwarzsee: 284 metres; walking time: approximately 1 ½ hours. Descent from the Hochkreuzspitze: return to the Pfoischarte, follow marking # 12 via the south ridge to the Uwaldalm (2,042 metres, pub); follow marking # 12 to your starting point. Approximately 3 hours.

Hints and tips: N/E of St. Magdalena, there is a major mountain at the end of the Gsies Valley, one of the most important in the Gsies Eastern range. Excellent look-out point.
